With your help and support, I have been honored to serve YOU, the people of Moorpark, in working to keep us a vibrant, high quality, small town.Let’s keep it going!
Now I need your help again, to be re-elected to the Moorpark City Council, so that the voice of your most consistent open space and city “watch-dog” advocate—-my voice—-can continue to be part of the debate to maintain our small town, semi-rural community character, while adding quality shopping opportunities like the Moorpark Marketplace (Target, Kohl's etc.) and Tuscany (Walgreen's and the soon to be built 'Fresh and Easy'), both of which I am proud to have voted FOR.

RE: Moorpark Redevelopment Agency/Eminent Domain
The City of Moorpark’s Moorpark Redevelopment Agency (MRA) unanimously voted to reject a proposed amendment to the MRA Plan that would have reinstated limited eminent domain authority for the agency for 12 years, after its first 12-year voter-approved eminent domain authority had expired.Because the amendment was rejected, this means that the MRA does not currently have any eminent domain authority at all.

The Moorpark Redevelopment Agency (MRA) has made a promising deal with The Granary, Inc and the owners of the Pilgrim Pride gas station near the Metrolink Station on High Street.
The agency helped find a new location for the station farther east on Princeton Ave. past the cement mixing area, will build a new station for the owner and help move him there so that the present site can be redeveloped for more commercial and retail issues to help revitalize High Street.
This is a win/win situation for everyone, including all the people of Moorpark who will see High Street start to blossom. It will take about two years (or more) to complete construction of the new station and move the owner there before new commercial/retail can be finally contemplated.
Negotiations are continuing with Severyn Severyn Aszkenazy (Aszkenazy Development, Inc.) for a major improvement to the South side of High Street between just east of Moorpark Ave. and the Metrolink train station. Stay tuned as more is learned about the upcoming prospects for this exciting economic development project. Call me if you have questions.
