RE: Proposed Happy Camp Flood Channel "Improvements" (November, 2006)
Comments starting November 2006 address this new proposed project, about which Dr. Mikos has serious concerns that it will cause more flooding problems than it will solve, if permitted to go forward as planned. Stay tuned. Please comment, if you can.

The public comment period for the proposed Happy Camp Canyon Flood Channel "Improvements" project is from November 1 - 30, 2006. Formal comments can be mailed to: Ventura County Watershed Protection District, Attention Theresa Stevens, 800 S. Victoria Ave., Ventura, CA 93009-1610 Go to www.vcwatershed.org and scroll down to see the pdf file for the Draft Mitigated Negative Declaration (or download it from above in the main introduction to all of these postings). The Ventura County Board of Supervisors, sitting as the Board of Directors of the Ventura County Watershed Protection District will have a public hearing about this on December 12, 2006 (unless they change the date, which is always possible). I am personally concerned, as I mentioned above that the proposed "improvements" will do more harm than good. I will be commenting formally and will post my comments here too, once I complete them.
