Happy Camp Golf Proposal (2000) & Proposed Channel "Improvements" (2006)

RE: Happy Camp Golf Proposal--Comments below from July 20, 2000 - April 5, 2002 were in response to this: Please tell us what you think of the 18-hole "links-style" golf proposal for Happy Camp Regional Park. If you want to join us for a walkthrough to see it for yourself, please contact me. Thanks, Roseann

RE: Proposed Happy Camp Flood Channel "Improvements" (November, 2006)

Comments starting November 2006 address this new proposed project, about which Dr. Mikos has serious concerns that it will cause more flooding problems than it will solve, if permitted to go forward as planned.  Stay tuned.  Please comment, if you can.

You can download and review the proposed Draft Mitigated Negative Declaration to help you understand what is proposed.

I received the responses to comments from the County. Some are appropriate and others are inadequate.

There is still serious concern about the recreational trail circulation plan for the lower Canyon--not enough trails for the public who lives close by.

Need for stronger conservation easement across entire non-turf area of the CUP boundary. Need for stronger language to prohibit night lighting in perpetuity. Need to compensate City of Moorpark for traffic impacts. And probably more.

I am still reviewing and will be at the Board of Supervisors meeting TODAY at 1:30pm. Please come and speak your mind.

If the concerns I have can still be addressed properly, I may be able to lend my support to the project.
